Even if your case has been dismissed it’s important to have it expunged. It can affect you in applying for a job or dealing with the police. You only have one chance in filing an expunction so it’s important to have it done correctly. If done incorrectly you may have an expunction taken off in only certain areas. Watch as attorney Mike Goolsby explains the expunction process and why you need to contact him for your legal needs and questions.

Getting a record expunged is a very important thing in many cases and we get a lot of cases dismissed. It’s important to take those off your record and I’ve run into people that say well the case was dismissed why do I care if it’s on my record. Well, if two people are applying for a job and one person’s got something on their record that shouldn’t be there a lot of times they’re gonna have issues. So what we do and what expunction is, basically you remove it for everything. I’m talking about police can’t see it, employers can’t see, it no one can see it. And that’s very important to have done. Another big issue with that is you only get one shot at it. If it’s done wrong and for example people aren’t listed in the expunction order it’s not going to be expunged in every single place. And I have people come to my office who have had them done, wanting me to try to get it taken off of other areas and you can’t. Their lawyer messed up, comes to me to try to fix it and unfortunately you only get one shot at filing an expunction. To speak to a lawyer call us at the Goolsby law firm.
